***Yahtzee Deluxe Update***

For context, please see the 9/27/06 and 2/7/07 entries on my blogsite.

This morning, I rolled a 491 on cell phone Yahtzee Deluxe. It was my second highest score of all time. Needless to say I was thrilled. So thrilled that I screwed up the part where you enter your name for the High Scores list. It reads: VJ0A. And I can't change it unless I clear the High Scores list. Which I won't. Obviously.

By way of avoiding self-incrimination, I will not disclose where I was when said second highest personal score of all time was achieved. Rest assured, it was not at the Olive Garden.

How many Yahtzee's were contained within said game?

It's cool you added the zero in your initials. Definite l33t.

There were three yahtzees in said game...

My final turn was for four-of-a-kind... I had three 5's going into the last roll... had I gotten that fourth elusive 5, I would have had the four-of-a-kind, and, what's more, I would have broken 500-- a would-be first for my digital Yahtzee Deluxe adventures... it was not meant to be. The Yahtzee Deluxe gods are keeping me humble.

Maybe another day.

remember when we all used to play yahtzee under your glass coffee table and you had to lay with your head under the table and drop the dice on your face? that was an interesting element.
and i'm going to tell you right now, those scores are computer fabrications. should you carry travel yahtzee and use actual dice, i am confident that you would never reach those scores. take it from someone who has played actual yatzee all by herself (on more than one occasion). i'm a digital skeptic.

Beth, I appreciate your skepticisim, but I assure you that the virtual dice fall randomly... in fact, I often suspect the computer to be biased AGAINST me! I do not mean to cast doubt upon your "real" Yahtzeeing, but I have played enough digital games (an average of five or so a day for the past six months) to make these scores statistically possible for any gamer.

Sorry, but I must defend my honor.

And, yes, of course I remember inverted Yahtzee. In fact, I recently had a bunch of old rolls of film developed into digital pics, and I adapted them for my screen saver. There is one of you underneath the coffee table looking up.

Has this score been notarized? Get back to me when the answer is yes.

In eager anticipation,

I'd maybe file a copy with your local probate court, just in case anyone challenges your title.

This morning, Lisa was listening to a 'family-friendly' radio station which uses the term "Yahtzee" as a euphemism for s*x. After all my hulabaloo about cell phone Yahtzee Deluxe, she was excited to hear about the mile-high Yahztee club... i.e. people who have *played Yahtzee* aboard commercial airliners... she thought for sure this was something I'd be interested in (and I may just be). It wasn't until she thought long and hard about the male passenger and airline stewardess playing Yahtzee at 30,000 feet in the bathroom that it became clear these people were scoring, but not with five sixes.

la. TheirSpace should really allow you to kudo kudo-worthy comments. I never knew family-friendly could mean friendly to the making of families as well as friendly to the families already in existence. But I'm all about protecting and promoting the unborn families just waiting for the right combo to come into existence. I'd go so far as to say that even preventing a game of Yahtzee is an atrocity--regardless of score, regardless of outcome.

Thank you for your kind words.

I, too, am dissatisfied the kudo policy around here. Every time I post a reply to one of my own posts (like I am doing right now), I elect (impotently) to give myself 2 kudos. Unfortunately ThisSpace doesn't recognize self-gratification as a legitimate reward.

Thanks, Brian.

This score pales in comparison to getting shout-outs from JM, but I try.

that's nearly a one to four comment to kudo ratio. sorry to dilute.

I mean kudo to comment, but I guess now we're getting closer to 1:5. My bad.

Given the onerous restrictions MySpace has placed on multiple kudoing and self-kudoing, I think the more relevant ratio would be kudo-to-nonbloggercommenter. By my count, that brings the index up to about 1:1.

I still select 2 kudos every time I reply to myself. Just in case.

typical scientist--always finding what they want to find. oh, you should sleep more because i want you to sleep more and this study says so too. no, you should sleep less because I have a study that says so that reflects my disdain for sleep. thank g smith they invented science so both the good angel and the bad angel could retire, and so no amount or lack of sleep could make us clearheaded or crazy enough to understand what's up and what's down, with science at the wheel of the merry-go-round.
